Abstract

This research aims to know and analyze the different cases of students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) associated or not with disability, according to the new reforms; Educational institutions will become places capable of welcoming and responding to the diversity of students, overcoming discrimination and exclusion, giving fair and equal treatment. Based on the analysis of the information provided by the Department of Student Counseling, and surveys of teachers from “La Providencia” in Azogues, to verify the reality of the establishment. It was observed that the level of teacher training regarding the various disabilities of the students, oscillates in a range between the medium and low medium level. Therefore, the role that a teacher plays with these students is essential, for this it is imperative that the teacher is in continuous updating, including innovative strategies and techniques, when making curricular adaptations.
