Abstract

This study focuses on the use of digital tools in social and political research. A systematic review of the existing literature was carried out to identify the most used digital tools in the collection, analysis and presentation of data in social and political research. The results indicate that digital tools can be a valuable tool for research, since they allow the collection of large amounts of data online at reduced cost and time. Additionally, data analytics platforms and data visualizations can enable the exploration of large amounts of data more efficiently and effectively than traditional methods. However, there are also important challenges to consider, such as the exclusion of people without internet access, the quality of the data and the interpretation of the results. These challenges need to be addressed to ensure that research remains rigorous and of high quality. Ultimately, the use of digital tools in social and political research can provide an opportunity for research innovation and efficiency. It is hoped that this study will provide a foundation for future research in this field, further exploring the benefits and challenges of using digital tools in social and political research.
